Zoombezi Bay Waterpark - The Newest of Waterparks in Columbus Ohio

The Zoombezi Bay Waterpark will open to the public on May 26, 2008! Gates open at 10:30AM!

I can surely tell you this, even the fondest of memories of the old Wyandot Lake will diminish quickly when you see all the excitment at this waterpark!





Zoombezi Bay Waterpark


This is a 22.7 acre waterpark! The features are awesome - you'll find fifteen water slides, a wave pool, a lazy river and so much more!

Before I go into more of the excitement... Columbus Ohio Zoo members can purchase a season pass - and right now they're discounted $20.00! So if you're looking to get a season pass... now's the time to buy your ....season pass.


What will you find at Zoombezi Bay Waterpark?

Lots!

Let's look at the attractions!

Wild Tides
One of seven different waves at this 544,500 gallon wave pool that can create waves up to four feet high!

Roaring Rapids
Nine special features to surprise you on the action river with over 570,000 gallons of water roaring up to 1500 feet!

Katoomba Lagoon
Just for the little ones... a 4000 square foot pool that features marine animal play structures and it includes an 11,350 gallon pool that's 12 to 14 inches deep!

Croctail Creek
For the adults... take a ride on the lazy side of this river containing 203,000 gallons of water and it's 850 feet long!

Barracuda Bay
Sounds challenging huh... you'll find an 18,000 square foot pool with three interactive play areas. It has a four and one-half story tree house with all kinds of gadgets and gizmos and slides! And if you're not watching... you might get soaked by the Barrel that dumps 500 gallons of water every few minutes!

Sea Splash
Visit the Slippery Seals, Sea Snakes and Sea Tubes!

But what are these?... they're body slides!



Zoombezi Bay Waterpark Slide




Slippery Seals is a 63' tower with a 310 foot slide (and in some parts of it... it's dark and enclosed!).

Sea Snakes is a 51' tower that challenges riders for 200 feet in a bowl shaped slide section where you slide around the side of the bowl in a ciruclar motion!

Sea Tubes starts at 51' and you'll find a few challenges along the way!

Cyclone
Dropping from a 55' start you'll reach speeds of 20 miles per hour! It's an extreme 4 person raft that cruises into the largest enclosed reducing - radius tunnel in the world!

Tahitian Twister
From 55' up... on a five person raft you'll go through total darkness... well I can't say anymore that would spoil the fun!

Dolphin Dash
Mat races... compete with up to 5 people... how good are you?

The Gift Shop provides swimwear, sandals and other items for your convenience!
