Woodys Bar-B-Que
Note: Woody's Bar-B-Que had a smoke fire early in March 2009.
Update: In July of 2010 the building was torn down and currently there is just an empty lot where the restaurant used to be. Rumor has it the property will be sold but I have not been able to get any "official" report as yet.
Woodys Bar-B-Que is slightly off the beaten path at the Route 33 and 42 exit on the Northwest side of Columbus. It's well worth your trip because you'll find excellent food and service.
They have their own smoke house and smoke the meats on sight. The appetizers are great and you'll find items like Deviled Eggs Rockafella, Southern Fried Pickle Spears, and Creole Shrimp Scampi.
They serve soups and salads and feature two fresh seasonal soups daily.
They have huge sandwiches. My favorite is the Classic Double Steakburger loaded with cheese, tomato, onion and chopped lettuce. The Carolina pulled pork sandwich is also mouth watering. They also have subs, clubs, fish and more.
The BBQ ribs are awesome. You can get babyback ribs or country ribs, either one I guarantee will fill you up!
The menu also has chicken, lamb, country fried steak, fish, ribeye, and more. If you can't make up your mind... have the combo platter!
The meals come with two side dishes and bread. The desserts look delicious. I say "look" because I've never had enough room to try them!
You can also have a cool brewski or glass of wine.
The staff is super friendly and provides excellent service, and the prices are right.
It's a family restaurant and sports bar with a good ole' down home atmosphere with fun people that love the OSU Buckeyes.
You'll also find a lot of cool memorabilia on the walls and throughout this very clean and warm restaurant.
A little history... this building was built and originally opened several years ago by the L&K Restaurant franchise.
