TAT Ristorante in Columbus, OhioTAT Ristorante in Columbus opened in 1929 by the Corrova family. They made the first pizza in Columbus, Ohio on Goodale Street in 1934 which had tomato sauce and a little pepperoni and cheese on a thick crust. ![]()
In 1950 they moved to East Main Street and in 1953 they opened another restaurant on James Road. In the 60's two more restaurants were opened, one on Beechwood Avenue and one on Sullivant Avenue. Today, the TAT Ristorante di Famiglia, was opened in 1970 by Jimmy Corrova on James Road and still serves excellent Italian cuisine. Family owned and operated since 1929, they are famous for the Poor Boy Sandwich, which is loaded with Italian meats and lettuce, cheese, tomato, peppers and spices. They serve several types of sandwiches, as well as appetizers, soups and salads. TAT Risorante di Famiglia still prepares homemade pasta, manicotti, ravioli, and lasagna among other excellent Italian dishes. In addition, they offer veal, seafood, chops, prime rib and steaks. The desserts are excellent, the Ultimate Chocolate Fudge Cake is my favorite and definitely takes care of the sweet tooth! They also have a party room available and are experienced in rehearsal dinners, birthday parties, weddings, graduations and many other types of get togethers.
