Pot of GoldI love St Patricks day in Columbus, Ohio!

Everything becomes magical and being Irish myself, my mind wanders off to the magical...images of dancing leprechauns, green beer, parades and fun.

Come celebrate with us and let's see if we can find that pot of gold at the end of the rainbow!

St. Patty's Day in Dublin

And what better place to start the day's celebration than the City of Dublin on Saturday, March 15, 2008. Well I wish it were in Ireland.... but this one is in Ohio! :-)

Join in for the Lion's Club Pancake Breakfast from 7Am to 11AM at the Sells Middle School. Adults - $6.00, Children under 12 - $4.00

If you like to run... join in on the Life Fitness St. Patty's Day 5K Run that starts at 10:45 am.

Green beer Prefer to watch the parade? I'm with you! It's an awesome parade and it starts at 11:00 am at the Metro Center. The parade normally lasts around one and one-half hours... and can you believe over 18,000 people come to watch it!!

Oh the fun we have in the Barney Bash Tent. And if you get there before 4:00 pm...you get in free! Starting at Noon they have a full day's schedule... great music and Irish dancing and more!

At 9:00 pm... you don't want to miss The Prodigals as they return again this year to help celebrate St. Patty's Day. (I love their song "Going Home"!) So put on your dancing shoes and come join the fun!

And they don't leave the wee folk out... they have a great schedule for them from Noon on. They'll have fun doing jigs and singing, listening to stories and playing games! Oh and the contests are so cute... see which one of the wee folk has the greenest eyes, the redest hair, the best Irish getup and the most freckles!

Lots of great American and Irish food can be had inside the big tent by the Crowne Plaza Hotel!

Irish Blessings

A Wish for a Friend

Wishing you a rainbow
For sunlight after showers...
Miles and miles of Irish smiles
For golden happy hours... Shamrocks at your doorway
For luck and laughter too,
And a host of friends that never ends
Each day your whole life through!

Shamrock

An Irish Prayer

May God give you...
For every storm, a rainbow,
For every tear, a smile,
For every care, a promise,
And a blessing in each trial.
For every problem life sends,
A faithful friend to share,
For every sigh, a sweet song,
And an answer for each prayer.
