is Still Serving The Best Brats

Schmidt's Sausage Hause in German Village, Columbus, Ohio has been around since the late 1800's and still serves the best sausage around!

Originally this was a sausage maker that started in 1886, but the restaurant wasn't developed until a few years later. Although, from my understanding you could still get a good brat sandwich before the actual restaurant opened.

It now draws many tourists, but the food is still excellent.

The brats (bratwurst) are delicious, tender and tasty! They also serve a great Bahama Mama that's spicy and a Mild Bahama Mama for those that like it milder. They have great sides like homemade applesauce, Green Beans and Spatzel, German Sweet Slaw, German potato salad and more.

You can get great appetizers; my favorite is the Sauerkraut-Bratwurst Balls. They have soups, salads, a large selection of sandwiches and a menu for children under 10.

You'll also find the traditional German dinners like Weiner Schnitzel und Gravy and Hoffbrau Schnitzel, Signature Sausage Platters and much more. You may want to try the German Autobahn Buffet, the variety is great!

And the desserts, well they are out of this world! Jumbo Cream Puff (Vanilla or Chocolate), German Chocolate Cake and Cherry Cheese Tart, are just fantastic.

They do have live entertainment on different nights each week.

They also provide banquets, weddings and more.

This is one of my all time favorite places, great food, great prices and great people!
