German Village OktoberfestThe German Village Oktoberfest is noted as one of the top 100 events in North America. The village is quaint and charming with super friendly people. Notice:The German Village Society cancelled Oktoberfest on July 6th, 2009 due to financial issues. In 2008 the weather didn't cooperate and the main competition was the OSU Game. However, Schmidt's Restaurant has stepped forward and will be sponsoring the celebration. Schmidt's Event Manager Vice President Carla Eppler has given September 25 - 27, 2009 as the event dates. Schmidt's ran the festival for approximately ten years before the Society took over. More to come as the turn of events are posted. ![]() Location: Ohio Expo Center, Columbus, Ohio Authentic German food, beer and wine will be served throughout the festival. It's the best German food around! Over fifty bands will perform throughout the festival on 3 stages. You'll hear everything from polka to rock. The Marketplatz will showcase fine arts and crafts. ![]() The Kinderplatz is a great activity area for kids. You'll find many activities and fun things to do including a Cornhole Tourney.
