One of the largest Irish events around, over 75,000 people are expected to attend the Dublin Irish Festival. Being Irish myself, it's one event that brings a lot of the homeland culture and education to those in attendance.

The Dublin Irish Festival 4 Miler kicks off on Thursday July 30, 2009 at 7:00PM.

The Academy
Classes are being offered to those that want to learn to dance or do a jig, or play the Irish fiddle or Irish whistle before the Dublin Irish Festival begins. Classes will be 08/01/07 and 08/02/07 at the Dublin Community Recreation Center.

Cultural Area
A wide variety of entertaining and educational exhibits includes workshop tents, an Irish wake tent, civil war re-enactors, the Irish theater, music workshops and exhibits.

The Spoken Word is the art of storytelling for all ages. You'll hear stories of the mystical tales and hear the history told via song in performances.

Brian Boru's Ireland
This will give everyone a genuine understanding of Ireland as it was a millennium ago. This recreation of a settlement in Ireland in the 10th century is unique and truly shows the homeland culture.

The Columbus Feis
Treat your family to a lesson in reels and jigs during the Columbus Feis - a regional Irish dance competition where 1,300 competitors of all ages vie for top honors. If you enjoy watching Celtic dance (like that in Riverdance), don't miss this annual Central Ohio event showcasing the best Irish dancers in North America. Competitors face-off in both individual and group contests on nine different stages. Competition ranges from beginner to champion levels, with the winners going on to compete in the World's Competition in Ireland.
Date: August 1, 2009 from 7:30AM to 3PM
Admission: $7.00
Location: Dublin Coffman High School, 6780 Coffman Road, Dublin, Ohio
