Columbus Ohio Christmas FestivitiesA Season of Giving - City Hall Tree Lighting CeremonyThe City of Columbus is proud of the kindness and generosity of the people who make up this great community. Each year, a reminder of
that generosity comes not only in kind words and good deeds, but also in the form of a unique gift - a 35-foot tall gift, to be exact.
Monday, November 10, city crews will harvest a 35' Norway Spruce tree that will become the centerpiece of the downtown holiday scene.
The 2008 holiday tree is a gift from Mr. and Mrs. David Gay, residents of the Martin Avenue neighborhood in western Columbus. The City Hall Tree Lighting Ceremony is produced by the Columbus Recreation and Parks Department. This event is made
possible through the support of AEP Ohio, Boehringer Ingleheim Roxane, Inc., LeVeque Enterprises, Schooley Caldwell Associates, MSI,
Ohio CAT, smart center Easton a Germain Company, Black Creek Bistro and Katzinger’s Deli. Holiday display and handmade ornaments created by the
