The Clarmont Restaurant Columbus Ohio was established in 1947 and still serves some of the finest food in Columbus today!

Frank Kondos founded the Clarmont in 1947 and was well known for his high standards for quality food.

In 1972 the Clarmont was sold to Barry Zacks. Mr. Zacks was also the founder of Max & Ermas. He brought more great food to the restauant and had great sucess with the Clarmont for 14 years and then sold it to Bill Bigelow in 1986.

Mr Bigelow continued to bring quality into the restaurant with fresh food and by starting dinner and theatre packages, a club named the Showgoers Club.

Thom Coffman became the new owner in 1996 and has continued to keep the Clarmont the highest quality possible. He has succeeded as this is an excellent restaurant. 61 years later and it's still going strong.

The menu has excellent choices and a lot of them. From appetizers, soups, salads, sandwiches and entrees, there's something there for everyone. And the wine list is extensive with excellent choices.

Three of us (my hubby, my friend and myself) ventured to the Clarmont just a few weeks ago. It was nice to get to sample more than one entree!

In total we ordered double pork chops which are grilled, served with sauteed spinach and swiss chard with a balsamic glaze, Boston scrod broiled with a light breading and then pan fried with lemon caper butter, and the BBQ Baby back ribs.

All of the dinner entrees were good but I have to say my favorite was the Boston Scrod and I wasn't the one that ordered it - so the next time that will be my choice!

Everything was prepared well, there was plenty of food, and our waiter was friendly and good!

For a "white-tablecloth" restaurant - the service was excellent, the food was excellent and the prices were right. For a great evening out for a full course meal (that will leave no room for dessert) - I highly recommend it.

It's also a great place to take friends and/or family for special occassions. They do treat you like royalty and roll out the red carpet!

Unfortunately it was raining and I didn't get pictures, but I will the next time!
