The 4th of July Celebration festivities are in the works... fireworks that is! The sky will soon be lighting up as people gather from all over to celebrate Independence Day in Columbus, Ohio.

Date: Thursday, July 3, 2008

2008 Schedule:

10:00AM: New Location: Germain's Boom! Central hosted by by WNCI 97.9 opens on Long Street east of Neil Avenue

11:00AM: New Location: Food and novelty concessions open on Washington Boulevard - hundreds of food vendors, games and inflatibles!

New Venue! Long Street Opens

This area, located by North Bank Park, will be filled with vendors, an entertainment stage, and the WNCI BOOM! Central.

12PM: Macy's Children's Park presented by Columbia Gas and COSI opens at Battelle Park - Fun games, educational activities, face painting and more!

New Location! Entertainment begins at Genoa Park

2:00PM

New Venue! Long Street Stage Opens

4:00PM

Expanded - Taste of Boom presented by the Arena District and Coors Opens!

The Taste of Boom on Nationwide Blvd. in the Arena District comes alive with its very own street party.

Features food from Columbus' top restaurants, Live music from local bands, and interactive games from the Blue Jackets and Columbus Crew.

5:00PM

New Location!

Germain's Boom Central hosted by NBC 4 opens on the north end of the midway at the corner of Broad Street and Washington Boulevard.

6:00PM

Ohio Air National Guard flyover

New Location! AEP Independence Day Parade

The parade starts on Broad Street at COSI heading east and marches north on Front Street

10:00PM

New Location - Fireworks!

The Grand Finale brought to you by Marathon. The fireworks will be shot from Veteran's Memorial on the north side of Broad Street.

10:30PM

New Locations

Entertainment resumes on Genoa Park Stage, Long Street Stage and Taste of BOOM! Stage.

25th Annual Doo Dah Parade

Date: Wednesday, July 4, 2008, 1PM to 3PM
Location: Short North Arts District

The 25th Annual Doo Dah Parade lineup starts at Noon. Line up at Noon on Park Street & Buttles (Come in through Goodale Blvd to Park Street).

Park Street between Goodale & Buttles
Buttles Avenue between High Street & Neil Avenue
Dennison Avenue between Buttles & Collins Avenue
Collins Avenue between Dennison Avenue and Neil Avenue
Neil Avenue between Dennison Avenue & 2nd Avenue
2nd Avenue between Neil Avenue & High Street
High Street between 2nd Avenue & Goodale Blvd.

Independence Day in Dublin, Ohio

Date: Wednesday, July 4, 2008
Location: Dublin, Ohio

The 2008 Independence Day Celebration starts in Dublin Ohio with the 24th Annual Sherm Sheldon Fishing Derby at 10AM.

The Independence Day Parade starts at 11AM.

The Concert Gates and Kids Area opens at 4:30PM. And at 5PM, the Skyhoundz Hyperflite Canine Frisbee Disc Championship starts.

Starting at 6:15PM will be the National opening act - to be announced.

Rick Springfield will start his performance at 8:15PM.

Fireworks starts at 9:50PM.

Central Ohio Symphony's 4th of July Celebration

Date: Wednesday, July 4, 2008, 8PM
Rain Location: Gray Chapel
Lawn Seating is Free
Location: Ohio Wesleyan University Campus Phillips Glen Lawn, Delaware, Ohio

The Central Ohio Symphony will kick off their concert at 8PM on Independence Day. Take your lawn chairs, blankets, and picnic baskets and listen to the all American music!
